Prime minister awards Belarusian customs service officers

MINSK, 16 September (BelTA) – Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko has presented government awards to a number of customs service officers, BelTA has learned.

According to Roman Golovchenko, it is difficult to overestimate the role of the State Customs Committee in enhancing Belarus' economic security and the political one. Amid growing pressure, the introduction of all kinds of international restrictions and barriers the role of state control at the country's borders grows. The State Customs Committee takes care of it together with the State Border Committee of Belarus.

Belarus' customs service has turned 30. Over the years it has acquired new methods of work and has improved its physical infrastructure, the prime minister pointed out. “The customs service has a rich history, a glorious present, and an excellent future. I would like to wish you professional accomplishments, mastery, belief in your capabilities, good health, prosperity, and luck,” Roman Golovchenko said.

Roman Golovchenko bestowed 1st class and 2nd class Medals for Impeccable Service upon customs service personnel as well as certificates of merit of the Council of Ministers. In turn, Head of the Belarus President Property Management Directorate Valery Ivanov awarded a certificate of merit to the State Customs Committee in recognition of effective interaction. Deputy State Secretary of the Security Council Aleksandr Rakhmanov presented certificates of merit from the State Secretariat of the Security Council while Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Valery Mitskevich presented certificates of merit of the Belarusian parliament.
